Believers receive all they need in Christ. Upon salvation, they become whole in Him, lacking nothing. There is nothing more that He has to offer us.
Believers are not required to seek any additional blessing for power, as all power is already accessible.
The power of the Holy Spirit working in a person’s life is truly something to be desired. For those who have genuinely experienced the Spirit’s power, they often refer to it as the baptism with the Holy Spirit, while the Scripture refers to this encounter as the filling of the Holy Spirit. As mentioned before, everything has already been provided for us upon conversion, and all we need to do is to appropriate what God has graciously done for us.
Establishing two separate and distinct baptisms is questionable given the biblical references that point to the unity of the activity. Acts 2:33 and Ephesians 4:5 emphasize the singular nature of baptism, reflecting Christ’s work through the Spirit’s ministry to unite believers with the body of Christ. The involvement of different Persons of the Trinity in this work highlights the cohesiveness and importance of this sacrament in the life of the church.
It is generally agreed that the references in the gospels look forward to the baptism with the Holy Spirit occurring at the Day of Pentecost. The references in Acts point back to the fulfillment. This being the case, the reference in 1 Corinthians 12:13 seemingly gives the doctrinal explanation of what occurred. Though it is possible to see two separate baptisms, it seems better to understand all the references explaining the same experience in more depth and detail.
Two Baptisms?
Some individuals who hold the belief that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is a subsequent experience post-salvation interpret Scripture as referring to two distinct baptisms. They argue that 1 Corinthians 12:13 discusses the baptism by the Spirit that places believers into the body of Christ, with the Holy Spirit being the one who baptizes believers into Christ’s body. According to them, the Book of Acts describes the baptism by Christ to position individuals within the realm of the Holy Spirit. They maintain that the initial baptism occurs during conversion and is encountered by all believers, while the second baptism takes place after conversion and imparts power to the believer. This perspective asserts that all believers have been baptized by the Spirit, though not all have been baptized in the Spirit.

Every spiritual blessing has been given us by God through Jesus Christ. Scripture never commands believers they must seek a second blessing after salvation. The Apostle Paul told the Ephesians:
The baptism with the Holy Spirit empowers believers to serve the Lord. The promise of the Father is geared towards serving the cause of Christ, rather than for eternal life regeneration. Throughout Scripture, the Holy Spirit is depicted as coming upon individuals to equip them with the power for service, rather than for the purpose of saving them from their sins.
The Argument Supporting the Baptism with the Spirit as a Distinct Experience from Salvation
The baptizing work of the Holy Spirit is a distinct and separate action of God, not tied to one’s initial salvation. This process involves a deeper, more personal connection with the divine, enhancing the spiritual journey and reinforcing one’s faith in God. Through the Holy Spirit’s baptism, individuals can experience a profound sense of renewal and empowerment, guiding them on a path of spiritual growth and understanding. First Corinthians 12:13 speaks of another baptism – not the baptism with the Holy Spirit. This refers to the symbolic act of being baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free, through the Spirit.

Peter wrote:
. . . His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).
Believers should still yearn to embrace the fullness of God’s Spirit in their lives. Each believer has been bestowed with all blessings, yet it is our duty and honor to actively incorporate them into our daily existence. Jesus emphasized the significance of the Holy Spirit’s power.
He who believes in Me, as the Word has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke concerning the Spirit whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (John 7:38-39).
The Book of Acts provides biblical evidence that the baptism with the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience following salvation. The gospels do not directly address this concept, while the New Testament letters were written to churches already acquainted with the Spirit’s power.

Baptism, a sacred sacrament of the new testament ordained by Jesus, (Matthew 28:19); serves as a solemn admission into the visible Church. (1 Colossians 12:13); It also acts as a sign and seal of the covenant of grace, (Rom 4:11; Colossians 2:11-12); symbolizing the individual’s engrafting into Christ, (Galatians 3:27; Romans 6:5); regeneration, (Titus 3:5); remission of sins, (Mark 1:4); and commitment to walk in newness of life through Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:3-4) This sacrament, established by Jesus himself, is to be continued in His Church; the body, until the end of the world. (Matthew 28:19-20).

Jesus’ life serves as a model for how we should strive to live, offering us a blueprint for moral conduct and spiritual growth that can lead us closer to him.
Jesus, the Son of God, was miraculously conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, fulfilling the prophetic promise of his divine origin. This incredible event highlights the unique nature of Jesus as the Savior of mankind, demonstrating God’s ultimate plan for salvation through his only begotten Son. Just as he made up his mind to follow through, a divine messenger came to him in a dream with a message from the Lord,
“But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” (Matthew 1:20).

(Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Ephesians 3:16-17) I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
This is Paul’s second prayer in this letter to the Ephesians. It confirms that we will be empowered by the Lord’s strength within us. With the power of God residing in us, we have the ability to conquer any challenges we encounter.

It doesn’t really matter whether you felt anything or not when you prayed to receive the Lord and His Spirit.
